Rehabilitation Assistant

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Diploma/degree from a recognized two-year Rehabilitation Assistant program (equivalent combination of a similar post-secondary program focusing on physical rehabilitation (e.g. Kinesiology) and experience working in rehabilitation assistant capacity will be considered)
• Previous experience working directly with clients in a healthcare facility is preferred
• Working knowledge and experience with theories and principles of guiding adult learning and client self-management approaches

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing;
• Ability to establish effective working relations with supervising therapists, coworkers, inter-professional team, and clients
• Excellent time management, analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be at a basic skill level in word processing and spreadsheet software
• Demonstrated regular attendance
