Description:

Modernisation Release Manager
£750 per day INSIDE IR35
Birmingham – Hybrid
MUST HAVE insurance tech transformation/modernisation experience.

  • be responsible for overseeing the release management lifecycle, including scheduling, coordinating and the management of release for multiple applications across various initiatives and project teams.
  • releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan the release windows and cycles across the Programme
  • Ensure cutover plans are in place and correctly managed
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, impact, schedule, and quality.
  • Monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time.
  • Coordinate release content and effort based on the potential impact of releases that need to be co-ordinated across the project teams, aiming for a release on demand philosophy
  • Co-ordinate Deployments, Runbooks and Implementation Plans.
  • Environments readiness management, ensuring enterprise-wide release discipline through planning and implementation of a release calendar, including code freeze and release windows.
  • Weekly Release Reporting.
  • Communicate release details and schedules to the Business
  • Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities.
  • Work with environment manager and release engineers
  • Maintains an Enterprise release schedule for all core services
  • Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
  • Ensure that automated CI/CD are in place

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of previous release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred).
  • 8-10 years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development.
  • Formal training in project management practices preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud and on-premises technologies.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and facilitate collaboration.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD Practices
