QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in release management, software development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing complex software release cycles in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices.
  • Proficiency with release management tools such as Jenkins, Git, JIRA, and Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within scope.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Agile) are a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the release management process, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating software releases across multiple projects and teams.
  • Develop and implement release management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and product management teams to define and manage release timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of release activities, including code freeze, build, deployment, and post-release validation.
  • Ensure effective risk management by identifying potential release risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and maintain release documentation, including release notes, deployment plans, and rollback procedures.
  • Monitor and report on release progress, status, and metrics to stakeholders and executive management.
  • Continuously improve release processes by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Manage and mentor a team of release engineers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in release management tools and technologies.
