The Software Platforms & Connectivity Module is a part of the Product Applications & Control Segment in Vestas R&D. The module focuses on developing innovative software platforms, robust communication infrastructure, and advanced cybersecurity solutions. We focus on creating scalable and reliable platforms that support a wide range of applications and services. Our team ensures seamless and secure communication channels, and we implement modern measures to protect against evolving cyber security threats.
The module consists of 155 people based in primarily Porto, Portugal and Aarhus, Denmark.
We are seeking an experienced Release Manager to oversee the release process for our software updates. The Release Manager will ensure efficient, reliable, and coordinated delivery by overseeing planning, testing, deployment, and governance of releases. The focus is to minimize risks, streamline processes, and maintain high-quality standards. You will be part of a team of 9 people based in Porto, Portugal and Aarhus, Denmark.

QUALIFICATIONS

A requirement is a relevant education at Master level (5 years) with at least 5 years of experience within release management. Furthermore, to thrive in this role, you should be able to contribute with several of the following qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management processes
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools to plan, carry out, and monitor release activities
  • Understanding of QA processes and the ability to ensure high-quality standards are maintained
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with software releases
  • Experience with configuration management tools and practices to manage code and deployment configurations
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools to automate and streamline release processes
  • Analytical skills to assess release readiness and performance metrics

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and manage the release lifecycle, including scheduling, coordinating, and managing releases across multiple applications and portfolios
  • Manage Go-Live activities, including the execution of pilot activities and deployment plans
  • Collaborate with project management, software development, quality assurance, operations, and other departments to ensure seamless product delivery
  • Implement and manage release processes for code through development, test, and production environments
  • Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and business go/no-go reviews, and produce deployment run books and implementation plans
  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, - dependencies, and notification listsIdentify and manage risks that may affect release scope, schedule, and quality, while providing continuous improvement feedback to the release process
