Description:
Overview:
The Quality Auditor will be responsible for consistently and objectively reviewing the quality of work produced by the Release of Information staff for all acute and ambulatory releases. Ensure the accuracy and quality of release of information disclosures within the entire Release of Information department. Apply federal and state laws to each review to ensure appropriate disclosure of PHI. Uses HIPAA Federal/State standards to interpret release of information requests and appropriately perform quality analysis appropriately and competently. Demonstrates proficiency of the Electronic Health Record to analyze Release of Information disclosures for all Novant Health Acute Care Facilities and all NHMG practices across the enterprise. Identify and report any necessary training needs for the team. Provide accurate and consistent feedback to supervisors and managers on Quality Assurance findings via reporting and data analytics. Quality Auditor may provide training support as needed which may include facilitating instructor led training.

Qualifications:
- Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a health care related field with AT LEAST two years of release of information experience, required.
- Experience working in a Health information Management Department or large outpatient clinic operation with release of information experience, preferred.
- Internal Candidates: A combination of the above qualifications and proven success will be considered within HIM leader discretion, required.
- Licensure/Certification: RHIT/RHIA, preferred.
- Additional Skills (required): Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Able to multi- task and work in a fast-paced environment. Prioritize tasks. Proven knowledge of medical termin
- Additional Skills (preferred): Experience with the EPIC EHR and/or Hyland On Base scanning application.
