Description:

At Mount Pleasant, we provide a warm and homely environment for children and young people aged 12-18. Located on the outskirts of Dalry in North Ayrshire, our spacious, detached house offers accommodation for up to 5 young people, where they receive the care and support they need to thrive. Our focus is on creating a safe, stable space where each young person is valued and given the opportunity to grow, develop new skills, and achieve positive outcomes.
We pride ourselves on our relational approach, with a dedicated team of stable, positive adult role models. Our staff work alongside the young people, their families, and local authorities to maintain and develop important relationships, access education, and build connections within the community. Whether supporting young people in attending mainstream school, college, or participating in our Education and Employability programme, we are committed to helping each individual find their path to success.
If you are passionate about working with children and young people, and want to be part of a team that genuinely makes a difference, we would love to hear from you. Join us in creating a nurturing environment where young people can flourish and build bright futures. With a flexible, supportive working environment, Mount Pleasant could be the next exciting step in your career!
Are you patient, kind, compassionate, creative, and motivated?
In this role, everyday activities like playing games, sharing meals, or visiting the beach become powerful tools for building trust, creating memories, and improving young lives. The children in our care have faced significant challenges, and it’s our mission to help them realise their potential and reintegrate into their communities.
At CrossReach’s residential service, children live in small community houses and attend a new purpose-built school, supported by dedicated professionals like you. Our environment is designed to foster healing, personal growth, and future success.
You’ll play a crucial role in assessing needs and working with Lead Practitioners to implement effective care plans. As part of a close-knit team, you’ll use a ‘whole-child’ approach, focusing on daily tasks and relationship-building.
Ideally, you’ll have an HNC in Social Care and SVQ Level 3 qualification, with some experience in care or education. If you’re compassionate and can understand behaviour’s underlying reasons, we’ll provide full training. A driving licence is also required.
At CrossReach, despite our size, we value each individual. For children, this means respect and tailored support. For professionals, it means a supportive environment where your ideas are valued and your ambitions can thrive.
CrossReach has been at the forefront of high quality social care for over 150 years, providing loving care to people of all ages and supporting them to live life to the full whatever their circumstances. During that time, we have worked hard to understand the needs of the people who turn to us for help and with them have been at the forefront of pioneering services which have literally changed thousands of lives for the better.
Today we are one of the largest social care providers in Scotland, with experience across a broad range of services. We are still growing, learning, and improving, thanks to the incredible people we have the privilege to support, and all those who support us. We are part of the Church of Scotland and aim to provide social care services and specialist resources in Christ’s name to further the caring work of the Church to people in challenging circumstances.
As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.
This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
We have a legal obligation to ensure that we do not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK. This permission is without exception granted by UK Visas and Immigrations. We are required to check the entitlement to work in the UK of all prospective employees, regardless of nationality or job category.
We are committed to ensuring that we attract, retain, and develop the very best people to build a diverse and talented team and we recognise that every individual’s unique background, experience and ability contributes to our success. We aim to create an inclusive and inspiring environment where individuals feel valued and respected and where people can belong, thrive and be their very best, whoever they are.
