Description:
The Health Sciences and Technology Academy at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a (Remote) Community Research Specialist for the South-central region of WV. Counties include: Webster, Braxton, Roane, Calhoun, Greenbrier, Fayette, Kanawha, Cabell, Lincoln, Boone, and/or others as needed and assigned.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a dedicated Community Research Specialist for the central and southern HSTA regions to join our team, specializing in facilitating research projects with HSTA high school teachers and their students and the HSTA program. The ideal candidate for this remote position will live in the area, and will guide educators in developing, implementing, and analyzing community research initiatives and projects. This role demands proficiency in Microsoft office suite, organizational, data analysis effective teaching and communication skills to foster strong partnerships and facilitate research endeavors.
AREA: SOUTH-CENTRAL HSTA REGIONS OF WV, COUNTIES OF, WEBSTER, BRAXTON, ROANE, CALHOUN, GREENBRIER, FAYETTE, KANAWHA, CABELL, LINCOLN, BOONE, AND/OR OTHERS AS NEEDED AND ASSIGNED.

- Familiarity with professional, staff, and student training methodologies.
- Knowledge of State, Board of Trustees, university, and Health Sciences Technology Academy policies preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in policy and procedure development.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain strong partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, especially in controversial situations.
- Proficiency in prioritizing responsibilities and initiating work independently.
- Strong analytical skills, research experience and the ability to use research information and derive valid conclusions.
- Experience in grant writing, oversight, and protocol development.
- Ability to lead large group events and provide effective training.
- Familiarity with institutional policies, procedures, and IRB protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, REDCap Software, and curriculum development.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum, STEM, Public Health, or related field.
- A minimum of six (6) months of experience in the following:
- University, governmental, or service-oriented non-profit organization.
- Experience in developing comprehensive research and data collection systems
- Proficiency in information gathering, data collection, and report writing
- Experience in curriculum development, grant writing, and project management
- All qualifications must be met by the time of employment
Responsibilities:
