Responsibilities:
- Documenting Patient Encounters: Accurately record patient history, symptoms, physical exam and provider notes and recommendations during consultations.
- Updating Electronic Health Records (EHRs): Enter and maintain patient data in EHR systems, ensuring it’s complete and up-to-date each visit.
- Assisting with Administrative Tasks: Help manage and organize patient records, appointments, and other documentation as needed. Help the doctor or APP navigate imaging portals, controlled substance databases and various office documents and Google Drive.
- Ensuring Accuracy and Confidentiality: Maintain high standards of accuracy in documentation and uphold patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinating with Healthcare Providers: Communicate effectively with doctors and other medical staff to clarify any details, obtain additional information, send referrals or orders, and schedule follow-up visits or procedures.
- Handling Medical Terminology: Understand and accurately use medical terminology and abbreviations in documentation.
- Adhering to Guidelines: Follow office policies and procedures for documentation.
