Job Summary:
The Account Executive is responsible for servicing new and existing clients that generate an average of $2,000 in commission. Provide, with a positive attitude, service support in obtaining, maintaining and servicing personal lines accounts. Ensure accuracy of new and existing data input into the automation system, and perform essential functions per the guidelines, procedures, quality, and service standards as stated by the agency. A Personal Lines Account Executive is committed to delivering a consistently impeccable experience.

Education/Training

  • License/Certification 2-20
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Experience:

  • Five (5) years minimum experience as personal lines account manager/ customer service representative required.
  • Preferably with the multi-line insurance agency/broker.
  • Experience with clientele in the state of Florida preferred.

Special Technical and Administrative Knowledge:

  • Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to learn agency automation system and other automation/internet programs as required.
  • Proficient in the use of windows-based operating system and Microsoft Office products (2016 or above), including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong typing skills.
  • Effective communication skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently.

Special Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to learn agency automation systems and internet programs as required.
  • Can accurately copy data from one source to another.
  • Must have the ability to read, understand, and interpret policy change requests and communicate the request clearly to the insurance company.
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information and respond appropriately.
  • Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail, respond to multiple requests effectively and to delegate work efficiently to support staff.
  • Able to interact with others effectively, cooperate positively and provide information and guidance as needed to contribute to the business efforts of the agency.

Unique Duties/Responsibilities:

Essential Functions include the following:

  • Advise and assist clients by explaining coverage options /exclusions, making coverage recommendations, requesting policy changes, handling premium collections, and answering questions and concerns of the client. Responds to client service requests in a timely manner that will avoid potential E&O issues.
  • Provide in-house customer service to clients as assigned.
  • Perform renewal reviews on Platinum and Gold level clients in accordance with agency service standards, including recommendations for improved coverage, remarketing with other carriers and soliciting additional lines to round out accounts.
  • For Silver and Gold level clients, provide reactive service in accordance with agency service standards. Solicit additional lines to round out the account where applicable.
  • Procure quality new business by soliciting additional lines of coverage on existing clients. Pre-qualify and analyze client’s exposures to determine acceptability and placement. Prepare quotes, proposals and complete applications, including all supplemental forms, in accordance with the carrier and agency guidelines.
  • On Platinum and Gold client, initiate renewal reviews and re-market as appropriate, to provide the client with the optimal solution in the coverage of their assets and the retention of the account. Present schedules of insurance and carefully review changes in exposure to avoid potential E&O issues.
  • Process surplus lines agency bill renewals and remarket to an admitted carrier whenever possible.
  • Review renewals to determine if non-standard policies can be re-written in a standard market. Prepare re-write applications.
  • Review cancellations and act to save Platinum and Gold level accounts. Determine necessary action and notify Client Advisor when applicable.
  • May accompany Client Advisor as needed to visit a client and may go to a client’s office or home.
  • Maintain client accounts on agency automation system, document conversations, properly attach documents in ImageRight, send confirmation to insured’s and adhere to all other automation procedures that are or become established. Maintain follow-up and task system for outstanding orders and correspondence. Respond to carrier requests for additional information in a timely manner to avoid potential E&O issues.

Miscellaneous:

  • Participate in seminars and other training for knowledge and skill development.
  • Some training of other employees may be required.
  • Provide backup to account Executives and Account managers whenever necessary.
  • Perform other duties and special projects at Management’s request.
  • Help develop efficiencies in automation and paper flow.
  • Keep Client Advisors fully informed of important activities on all accounts.
  • Stay abreast of trends, products, pricing and competitive markets. Have working knowledge of all agency and company changes procedures.
