WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS TO APPLY? TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS A PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE ENGINEER, YOU NEED TO HAVE:

  • 10+ years of hands-on software development experience with high-availability commercial systems
  • Proficiency with on-prem and cloud environments
  • Humility with the ability to quickly pick up new technologies and comfortable leading, driving, and delegating work.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Cybersecurity or Networking
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with AWS, GCP and/or Azure

Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING AS A PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE ENGINEER AT SIMSPACE?

  • Work directly with the VP of Engineering and the Chief Product Officer as part of the team driving the platform roadmap
  • Stay up to date on the latest development trends, evaluating new libraries, frameworks
  • Provide technical direction and set technical priorities across the organization
  • Develop features and improvements in a secure, well-tested, and performant way, consistently shipping large features with minimal guidance
  • Craft code that raises the standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Advocate for these standards through code review
  • Support and mentor other engineers, contributing to the long-term technical vision and grooming/breakdown of work
