Job Description
The role of the Housing Services Clerk, Rent Calculation is to calculate rents for the YWCA Metro Vancouver’s tenants, residents and portable housing subsidy recipients.
Responsibilities:
- Complete rent calculation with new tenants and residents and annually with existing tenants/residents to assess tenant rent contribution/housing charge.
- Prepare rent review packages and provide them to tenants/residents (form, instructions and list of needed documents)
- Collect tenant/resident documents and upload them to Sharepoint
- Follow up on missing documents
- Assess rent
- Inform prospective tenant/resident of housing charge amount
- Data entry and filing
- Responsible for: Annual Rent reviews and calculations, Updating BC Housing system, Collection and maintenance of Insurance files
- Receive Rent Review Documents;
- Request outstanding documents;
- Inform Property Manager when attempts to collect rent review documents are not successful and provides a list of non-compliant residents for escalations;
- Calculate new Rents;
- Send completed rent review to Property Manager for review;
- Create new Tenant Rent Contribution letters for all tenants who have received a rent review;
- Upon approval by Property Manager, enter information on new rents into BC Housing system and into Arcori;
- Collect tenant insurance documents annually (at time of rent review);
- Collect car insurance documents annually where applicable (at the time of rent review);
- Inform Property Manager where tenants are not submitting tenant insurance or car insurance;
- Input tenant insurance documents and car insurance documents into tenant files.
- Put rent review documents in to tenant files
- Other duties as required
