Repair Technician

This is a temporary 12-month role.
By joining the European Repair Flow Service Center (in Ede, the Netherlands) as a Repair Technician, you will work with all Emerson Flow Measurement products that are returned to the factory for the purpose of warranty, examination, repair, modification and/or calibration.

The role gives the opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders, all range of Emerson Flow products and with different processes in order to meet customer requirements in a timely manner to the highest quality.

• To maximize customer satisfaction by ensuring a faster, more efficient and professional handling of all Emerson Flow products that are returned to the factory for the purpose of guarantee, examination, repair, modification and/or calibration orders.

• To create customer value through the provided services with our European Repair Center for all value streams and complexities of tasks for a flexible, agile, expert and efficient repair team.To provide support regarding production engineering and Engineering & Technical Services in projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

• Advanced higher vocational education (MBO+) or university of applied sciences (HBO) level with a background in technology
• Possess or be wiling to achieve:
• Safety Checklist for Contractors (SCC) certification; VCA
• Hoisting certificate and certification as a forklift and/or reach truck driver

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

• To take receipt of products that were sent back to the factory; check compliance and flag issues when appropriate;
• To inspect equipment using suitable test equipment and compile a written record of the results;
• To repair defective flow meter products at board level and conduct tests to guarantee their proper functioning;
• To perform electronic calibrations and software upgrades, if necessary;
• To coordinate repair, calibration and/or modification orders with other departments and external suppliers;
• To issue clear, accurate and high-quality reports informing external and internal customers about the inspections and repairs that were performed;
• To perform main repair activities across all value streams and complexities of tasks;
• To update repair statuses in the company systems;
• To enter investigation results (error codes) in the repair and quality database systems;
• To keep track and ensure accuracy of inventory;
• To handle products with non-conformities for Operations;
• To assist Operations with critical issues at product level;
• To provide assistance for and/or supervise (minor) production-engineering projects, quality assessments and test activities for third parties.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

• Fluency in both English and Dutch language skills (verbal, reading and writing)
• More than 3 years of experience in a similar role handling repair/troubleshooting/calibration activities, preferably with Measurement Control/Industrial Automation equipment
• Physical requirements:
• Occasional lifting of goods up to a maximum of 23kg (using proper processes and equipment)
• Several hours per day in a production environment and of computer use
