We are committed to the safe and secure reuse of electronics, the responsible recycling of electronics to divert waste from landfills and the recovery of natural resources from obsolete electronics.
We are seeking a Computer Repair Technician to join our team in North Bay, Ontario. In this fast-paced environment, the Repair Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electronic devices including laptops, desktops, tablets, and other devices. The ideal candidate will have excellent English communication skills, strong time management skills, and be detail oriented.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems and components.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 software, with proficiency in Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills: the ability to analyze and resolve software, hardware, and firmware related problems.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information in a concise and professional manner.
  • An aptitude and interest in learning about new hardware, software, and applications.
  • A learning-orientation: the ability to take notes, follow instructions, and adapt to changing situations.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose hardware and software problems based on client descriptions.
  • Review system logs and physically inspect hardware components. Utilize hardware and software tools to perform component testing.
  • Analyze system performance relative to product specifications and features.
  • Research and troubleshoot hardware and software related issues.
  • Replace defective hardware components and perform operating system installation, configuration, and setup.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service team on customer authorization request escalations, additional information requests, billable repairs, and extended testing.
  • Collaborate with Repair Technicians to maintain workflow efficiency and proficiency, relative to product knowledge.
  • Maintain detailed logs regarding problems found during inspection, results of tests performed, actions taken, and related details.
  • Review work order history on a per unit basis to make informed decisions.
  • Manage multiple systems simultaneously and ensure repairs are completed by their assigned deadlines.
  • Perform other assigned duties as may be required from time to time.
