QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: N6 in Light Current or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience: Two to three years of relevant experience in a similar role.

SKILLS:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.

  • Ability to interpret technical schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE:

We are looking for a skilled Repairs Technician to join our team. This role involves repairing and testing a wide range of electrical and electronic products. The successful candidate will be adept at fault-finding and ensuring that all repairs are completed efficiently and to the highest standards, with a focus on excellent customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assembling and Testing: Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Fault-Finding and Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, including electronics, inverters, UPS systems, and AVRs.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on repair activities and outcomes.
  • Customer Support: Handle customer technical inquiries and provide expert troubleshooting and repair services.
  • Back Orders: Manage back orders and ensure repairs are completed within specified turnaround times according to our repair policy.
  • Stock Control: Oversee stock control within the workshop, including ordering of electrical supplies and equipment.
  • Tools and Equipment: Utilize hand tools, measuring equipment, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools effectively.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Management Advisory: Advise management on the continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Assistance: Provide support in various capacities as required within the workshop.
