As a Replenishment Analyst you will partner with merchandise planning, merchandising, vendors, store operations, supply chain and store operations to manage:
- Store In Stock/Service Level and Fill Rate
- Vendor PO On time and Fill Rate
- Inventory Productivity - Turn, DOS
- Implement demand forecasting and inventory management best practices to support West Marine’s growth
This position is responsible for following the Forecasting and Replenishment policies and practices that support achieving our in stock and inventory productivity targets and drive efficiencies. This includes identifying and communicating opportunities business improvement to your manager and working with your peers and business partners to enable a strong cross functional team.
This position will have a strong knowledge of demand forecasting and replenishment practices and systems / software, will work to align with merchandising strategies and will have the analytical skill sets to ensure that the right product is at the right stores at the right time. This position will use advanced analytics and problem solving to implement the business strategies and processes for the assigned replenishment area.
This position will have an understanding of DC order fulfillment processes, transportation impact points to inventory at DC and store and space constraints in the supply chain to flow product on time and efficiently.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Recent college graduate with a bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a Retail/Supply Chain focus
- Industry retail experience a plus
Responsibilities:
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Achieves In Stock, Sales, Margin, and Inventory Turnover and other KPIs as designated to plan
- Executes the inventory plan in partnership with Merchants and Merchandise Planning partners, helps to set targets and achieves plans for inventory productivity required to support the sales, gross margin and in-stock objectives
- Develops and maintains demand forecasts in order to achieve targeted forecast accuracy KPI’s
- Owns the end-to-end management of inventory in the distribution network to support stores achieving target service level and financial performance KPI’s (e.g. In Stock, Store Fill Rate, Inventory Turn, etc.)
- Responsible for ordering from vendors into our distribution network to support demand, including problem solving with vendors around purchase orders, capacities, forecasting, order profiles and network inventory flow and optimization
- Responsible for the replenishment and allocation of inventory from DC/vendor to store, including in-stock and service levels for regularly and promotional product; maintain high levels of promotional product availability during promotional periods while minimizing posyt-promotion residual product
- Responds timely and with a sense of accountability to questions from the stores and management regarding product level availability
- Executes and measures performance against the business planning and product creation calendars to drive timely and informed decision making
- Supports the VP & Director to present within various strategic meetings for the division (i.e. Long-Range Planning, Business Reviews, Line Reviews, Open-To-Buy, Vendor Meetings, etc.
- Works with the Merchandise Planner and Merchandising business partners to create action plans to drive timely and informed decisions, based on calendar events (e.g.: Major launches, Holiday Planning, Vendor shutdown plans)
- Responsible for validating new item set up, and ordering parameters on new vendor sets, into the replenishment system
- Research and investigates distribution center and store out of stocks and implement corrective action
- Identifies and resolve aging, disco and code-date risk inventory in the distribution centers and recommend corrective action
