The Healthcare Analytics department is part of the Planning and Performance Directorate. It is comprised of the following functions: Analysis and Reporting, Data Warehousing and Data Engineering and Commissioning Information.
The Report Developer will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining various new reporting solutions, including automated reports and dashboards using Power BI, across a broad range of areas using data from a number of different systems, helping to support the Trust’s objectives. The post holder is responsible for delivering high quality visualisation solutions to agreed specification and in accordance with departmental policies and best practice. These dashboards and reports will meet the needs of the divisions and the wider Trust using the best data sources available and using benchmarks where available and applicable.
Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
The Analysis and Reporting team is a welcoming, experienced and supportive team. There are clear and documented processes to help the team members navigate through the various requirements of their roles. To support home working there are daily huddles to understand priorities for the day, key achievements and successes to be celebrated and opportunity to raise any issues or identify where support is required.
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is now one of the largest in the country, with a workforce of approximately 15,000 who serve a population of 1.2 million people.
We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients in a compassionate way, and provide a respectful, but vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
From facilities through to consultant specialists we want to be the best, to achieve this we need to recruit not just those who are the finest in their field but also those who have the potential to be. Yes, experience is important but so is outlook – if you are dynamic, forward-thinking and enthusiastic we want you to join us.
We not only offer you a good working environment with flexible working opportunities, but also the opportunity to develop your career with access to appropriate training for your job and the support to succeed and progress.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining new reporting solutions using Power BI, SQL and other reporting tools. The Report Developer will work closely with a range of colleagues using knowledge of information systems and information flows to provide analysis and insights to help resolve current challenges. This is a varied and dynamic role, where focus can often switch depending on the current pressures that the Trust is facing. This will enable the successful candidate to get an excellent understanding of the workings of the NHS and make a difference.
The Report Developer will also be expected to develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of NHS data flows, datasets, information availability, scope, reliability and data quality issues. This includes a thorough understanding of the NHS data dictionary and knowledge of guidance for specific returns.
