Description:

Autonomous practitioner within a multidiscipline team responsible for writing and verifying a radiological report of a range of specified XRs in a final, free text version using a voice recognition system. Responsible for making clinical decisions which may have direct impact on patient management and treatment contributing to an effective care pathway for the patients. Recommending next step in patient care and requesting next step in imaging for trauma patients. Follow protocols for communication of unexpected clinical findings which may involve additional imaging.
Provide training and assessment of under graduate radiography students, APs and radiographers as required. Produce images of sufficient quality for the diagnostic and treatment process in accordance with professional, technical and legal standards and act as point of reference for technique advice for radiographers. Contribute to continual improvement of image quality within the department. Functioning in accordance with best practice and in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal standards and requirements.
Provide specialist knowledge, verbal or written opinions/advice to medical staff and others as required
