Description:

The Research Administrator II supports investigators and staff through the entire grant and contract proposal submission process focusing primarily on collaborative subaward agreements with other institutions. Facilitates the administration of a varied portfolio of sponsored awards. Independently supports and assists investigators through the entire subaward process Manages competing priorities while providing excellence in customer service to internal and external customers. Attention to detail is a must to ensure appropriate terms and conditions are included in subaward documents.

This is an onsite position with a hybrid schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support/coordinate management of grants and sponsored programs (e.g., preparation and review of proposal documents including budget, monitoring of subawards, award lifecycle management) more independently.
  • Read, interpret, disseminate and apply federal and other sponsor guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements to support investigators and other relevant teams.
  • Coordinate with members from research teams, sponsor institutions and other teams to facilitate standard issue resolution, and escalate as needed.
  • Manage negotiation of standard terms and conditions associated with basic non-industrial sponsored research agreements to ensure consistency with institutional policies.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives within the team through suggestions and executing assigned tasks.
  • Contribute to the development, preparation, revision, and finalization of project budgets and providing budget justifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Requirement: 2+ years of experience in financial administration processes as applicable to grants and sponsored programs.
  • Experience in relevant regulations as applicable to grants and sponsored programs.
  • Some experience coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Subrecipient monitoring experience preferred.
