Description:

SCI398624

We are looking for a friendly, engaging, enthusiastic person to join the Faculty of Science Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) team. You will work together with Hub colleagues and the wider Faculty RKE team, providing administrative support and contributing to the support elements of the research lifecycle. You will provide administrative support to academic and research staff applying for and managing research grants.
The post is primarily based on the University Park Campus.

As a Research Administrator you will:

  • Provide administrative support for pre- and post-award activity related to bids and grants within your hub.
  • Receive and respond to internal and external queries, providing advice and resolving both simple and complex issues.
  • Support in life research activity for their hub; this could include organising meetings or events in partnership with dedicated central services.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and minute committees, meetings or other collective activity, following up on actions and managing documentation.

And you will bring:

  • Excellent oral and written communication and numeracy skills.
  • The ability to work independently to resolve complex queries whilst adhering to deadlines.
  • Accuracy, reliability and the willingness and adaptability to learn new skills and procedures.
  • A positive attitude to building and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues.

Experience planning your own work activities in response to differing needs and deadlines is essential. An understanding of the different types of funding and the rules governing each type would be beneficial but not essential.
We welcome applications from high quality people who will enhance the diversity of our RKE team. The Faculty is committed to creating opportunities for people traditionally under-represented in science.
This is a permanent, full-time post (36.25 hours). Applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part-time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Linsea Duffy, Linsea.Duffy@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
