Job Description
The Office of Education at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a full-time, permanent Research Analyst. Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Scientist, the successful candidate will assist in projects related to qualitative research in health professions and education. Duties include but are not limited to: report writing and preparation of manuscripts for research publications, some limited data analysis, literature reviews, generating website content and some aspects of grant writing. Central to this role will be a thorough understanding and an ability to apply strategies that support equity and inclusion of people with lived experience.
The Research Analyst will work with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 1025 Queen St. West.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a health, social, behavioral or related science with 1 year of relevant research and/or evaluation experience. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of qualitative research methods, participatory action research and co-production is required. Solid knowledge of health equity principles and tools is required. The successful candidate will possess strong PC software skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel), Internet search engines, and the ability to learn new programs quickly. Demonstrating knowledge of KT strategies, methodologies and tools is required. Experience creating and posting website content and using social media for KT is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral/written), and organizational skills are required, along with creative problem-solving abilities. The successful candidate will possess the ability for self-directed learning/working and the ability to work independently with supervision as well as collaboration and teamwork. Candidates also require the ability to work effectively in a wide-range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
