Job Description
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital in Canada, as well as one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. Our services are delivered to help transform the lives of people affected by mental illness and addictions. Our goal is to tailor treatment to each individual, providing patient-centered, comprehensive, coordinated care.
Reporting directly to the Director, Clinical Research and Medical Affairs and the Principal Investigator, CAMH is seeking a full-time contract (12 months) Research Analyst. The Research Analyst will work closely with the Principal Investigator and Research Coordinator to support a multi-site randomized-controlled pilot trial of a self-stigma reduction intervention for young adults. The work is situated in a setting focused on the engagement of people with lived experience in research and will include an important youth engagement component as per the Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research. The Research Analyst will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the clinical trial, collaborating with team members, working with young adults with lived experience, collecting and entering data, and complying with all regulatory requirements. Other duties include attending project team meetings, preparing study materials, monitoring timelines, supporting data organization and verification, and performing various administrative duties. Additional duties may emerge, as needed. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West.
Job Requirements

The successful candidate must have at a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a related academic area, combined with a minimum of 1-year of relevant research experience.

  • Identifying as a person with lived experience of mental health/substance use challenges is a strong asset for this position.
  • Experience with mental health research is required; experience with clinical trials is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in youth mental health is strongly preferred.
  • Experience administering interview-based assessments is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working on research projects involving human participants is required.
  • Experience working directly with research participants, on tasks such as consent, assessment, or data collection, is required.
  • Experience with data entry is required; previous experience with REDCap is considered an asset.
  • Experience with qualitative research is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication (oral/written) skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • The candidate will be detail-oriented, possess analytical thinking skills, and be able to exercise initiative and good judgment.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask and produce high-quality, accurate work while meeting program deadlines.
  • The candidate requires the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
