Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Biomarker Assay Lab is a high-throughput, highly automated laboratory utilizing immunoassay platforms for analysis of research samples. Under the supervision of the Laboratory Director, the Biomarker Lab Supervisor will be responsible for managing laboratory staff, maintaining project timelines, monitoring data quality for the Biomarker Lab, and troubleshooting issues with processes, instruments, and analyses within the lab.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Develops protocols for experiments and monitors adherence to protocols.
- Assists with or performs laboratory experiments for which they have developed methods.
- Works closely with the Laboratory Director to ensure the quality of the data being collected and maintain operations within the lab.
General Responsibilities
- Performs highly complex and intricate laboratory experiments.
- Leads protocol development, data analysis and report preparation.
- Maintains safety records and ensures safety/compliance procedures and protocols are followed.
- Hires, trains, and supervises lab staff and student employees; assures observation of safety policies.
- Maintains fiscal accountability of the program and approves all expenditures for the lab.
- May develop, prepare, and coordinate grant applications and grant-related activities to obtain funding for research projects and related work.
- May present research findings to staff, leadership, and external partners.
