POSITION SUMMARY:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Analyst.
The Department of Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine seeks a Research Analyst to support the Health Dashboard Initiative (HDI). The analyst will support a group of national interactive websites that provide health and health-related metrics calculated to specific local geographies, including the City Health Dashboard (www.cityhealthdashboard.com) and the Congressional District Health Dashboard (www.congressionaldistricthealthdashboard.org). This analyst will work with a team of analysts who analyze data at the federal, congressional district, county, city, census tract, and census block levels; aggregate geographic data; and calculate robust health metrics that align with administrative boundaries. The analyst will also be responsible for supporting the teams project management efforts, including updating and maintaining project management tracking via project management software, monitoring invoices and payments, and other project management responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To qualify you must have a A bachelors or masters degree in a related field (biostats, epidemiology, public health)
Skill and experience in the R statistical programming software
Skill and experience in project management software
Attention to detail and willingness to take initiative
Commitment to collaboration and internal customer service

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years experience in a project management and/or analytics role
Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and internal customer service
Skill and experience in the SQL data programming language
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $68,900.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Retrieving, analyzing, and evaluating data parsed to various geographic boundaries for use in HDI websites with attention to issues of sample size, bias, and timeliness
  • Documenting work flows and methodological challenges to generating health metric estimates across numerous geographies
  • Creating and maintaining project management workflows via project management software
  • Monitoring project invoices, contracts, and payments
  • Performing other analytic or project management tasks as assigned
