Valpak is searching for a Research Analyst to join our Research Services & Audience Solutions Group to help drive results in an agile environment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Statistics, Quantitative Methods or other related field and minimum of two years relevant quantitative marketing research experience, preferably in direct marketing or ad sales/media environment. Knowledge of major third-party suppliers of household and syndicated data and services preferred, such as Nielsen, Claritas, PRIZM/Mosaic/Personicx segmentation, MRI-Simmons, Omniture, Google Analytics, Alchemer (or similar programs). Knowledge or familiarity with database reporting tools such as Microstrategy, Tableau, PowerBI, TapClicks, Domo, etc.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, independent judgment, and ability to work under self-direction
- Detail oriented; effective at interpreting and telling stories with data
- Ability to interface with sales channels, advertisers and all levels of management
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Access, Excel and PowerPoint
- Flexible, with the ability to manage concurrent projects
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing stakeholders research consultation (including program design), implementation, backend analytics and interpretation of findings to make recommendations which meet advertiser and company objectives.
- Designs, develops, and implements research-related sales tools, presentations, proposals, recommendations, and insights. Must be able to tailor approach, analysis, and insights for specific audiences.
- Applies intellectual curiosity to uncover research and client opportunities leveraging proprietary, subscription, or online resources.
- Provides full-service pre-sale and post-sale consultation. Delivers the “data story,” offering support, interpretation, and application uses to customers.
- Acquires basic knowledge of database management including internal, client, third party and syndicated supplied data.
- Plays an integral role in the development of dashboard reporting tools and visualization of internal and external data points.
- Crafts data points into actionable insights to help drive sales, new programs, and processes.
- As needed, performs custom research, and provides related analytical and statistical support.
- Presents findings in formal settings to sales staff, management, and advertisers.
- Performs related work and additional duties as needed or required.
