Job description
A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Force’s Corporate Research and Analysis team as a Research and Business Intelligence Analyst.
Cheshire Constabulary puts research and analysis at the heart of its decision making, with our Analysts delivering analytical support across a wide variety of policing functions, from supporting senior officers/staff to make evidence-led decisions, through to understanding the impact of policing activity across the county in a bid to drive improvements in service delivery.
Our analysts come from a wide range of backgrounds, have varied experience and a wealth of different skills and abilities, and we are looking for somebody with an inquisitive mind, great problem-solving skills, and an aptitude to analyse and present complex data to draw out evidence-based insights. The ideal candidate will meet the set of requirements outlined in the Qualifications, Experience & Skills section within the role profile attached to this advert, and as such all applicants are asked to provide detailed evidence, inclusive of examples, against the elements of the role profile listed as part of the application process.
This role is a hybrid role, with a requirement to work from Constabulary Headquarters in Winsford, alongside home-based working when appropriate.
Candidates must be able to travel within Cheshire independently, if necessary, to attend and present at meetings and to gather information as part of the research/analytical process.
Cheshire Constabulary is fully supportive of diversity, equality and inclusion and strives to employ a workforce which is representative of the community it serves.

Applications are welcomed from all underrepresented groups and support will be made available throughout the recruitment process for all applicants. Under-represented groups include:

  • People of ethnic minority
  • Individuals who identify as having a visible or invisible disability
  • Gender in relation to female representation for PC entry routes
  • Gender in relation to male representation for Staff entry routes
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender + (LGBT+)

FOR POLICE OFFICER RECRUITMENT ONLY: The Constabulary recognises that some may possess additional skills such as fluency in other languages; if you have such a skill and are willing to be contacted about this potentially being considered in relation to deployment and posting decisions, please highlight this in the application. Please note that any posting decision will be made by the organisation as is its prerogative however in circumstances where there is a cultural-competence/skill that may also enhance the Constabulary’s service to its communities then in consultation with an individual and their consent then a posting may be agreed accordingly.
If you have any queries in relation to diversity, equality and inclusion or have a request for any additional support you may need, please email Wellbeing.Engagement.Inclusion@cheshire.police.uk
