Description:

DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for the design, fabrication, assembly, micro-controller programming and testing of prototype electronic modules (e.g., custom PCBs). The technical work will include understanding the research projects undertaken in QI, and developing electronics modules (analog, digital, and RF) for mobile, wearable, implantable, IoT applications.
Analyze patterns and anomalies in connectivity data to identify vulnerabilities in system networks. Manage a graph database for representing the relationships between different network components. Automate the detection of new devices on the network and updates to network topology. Investigate interactions between network components via simulation of network scenarios and protocols. Develop methods to model and handle potential system failures or disruptions. Other duties within scope of description.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree (or higher) in Engineering, Data Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with engineering principles and methods to independently perform the full range of engineering professional design work.
  • Thorough knowledge necessary to apply principles, practices and procedures in the completion of assignments.
  • Advanced computer application skills: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. to produce high-impact visual depictions of research findings and conclusions for a diverse range of audiences and project stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated organizational and decision-making abilities to prioritize competing work assignments in order to meet deadlines and adhere to quality standards.
  • Strong effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Required
  • Strong ability to work in a collaborative manner; identify challenges and barriers and recommend resolutions.
  • Ability to lead and influence others.
  • Experience with electrical/RF test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators etc. Experience designing printed circuit boards using commercial schematic capture and layout tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle, Orcad, KiCAD, DxDesigner, PADS etc.).
  • Experience with embedded programming of microcontrollers, wireless modules, etc.
