Responsibilities:

As a Research and Development Engineer for Dyno Nobel Americas, you will be responsible for energetic materials research and technology, new product development, process and product improvements, product technology, and testing activities relating to cast boosters, NONEL (Non- Electric) shock tube systems, electronic Initiation system products. You will be responsible for planning and managing projects relating to the development and support of Detonators, Boosters, and their formulations and manufacturing methods. Other duties will include:

  • Develop concepts and inventions of new initiation systems products.
  • Develop and support manufacturing processes and operations.
  • Plan execute and report on experimental activities
  • Support customer complaint resolution activities as required.
  • Develop new products or improve existing products in order to improve the quality of Dyno Nobel’s products in accordance with company goals
  • Conduct laboratory and testing on new or improved products in order to ensure safe and accurate testing.
  • Record and maintain results of all tests conducted in order to support analyses and share results with Management, Supervisors, sales representatives, or customers.
  • Provide assistance with patent filing to ensure accurate and timely filing.
  • Supervise scientists and technicians in testing of products in order to assure trained personnel and accurate testing.
  • Analyze competitor’s products in order to develop new products capable of strengthening Dyno Nobel’s competitive advantages.
