Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research and Innovation Manager to join our team in Hamilton and support commercial testing of the product to enable our successful commercialization of the eShepherd virtual fencing products to our markets.
In this role you will work data accumulation and research function of our eShepherd team driving strategy for commercial testing of eShepherd and supporting progressive innovation in the Animal Welfare space. This is an on-site role located in our Hamilton office.

In this role, you’ll successfully support the eShepherd team. This will include:

  • Oversee the commercial testing process to gather critical insights and feedback from test customers
  • Ensure that all research and data analytics activities prioritize and uphold high standards of animal welfare.
  • Drive innovation in research methodologies and data analytics practices.
  • Establish and manage systems for data collection, storage, and analysis.

With an ability to communicate with a diverse internal and external network, you will be able to understand the eShepherd product and support good interactions with commercial customers, welfare groups, and legislators. This role will require some of the following:

  • An animal science, behavioural science, data science, agriculture, statistics or computer science qualification
  • An understanding of animal farming business, technology, and practices
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within research or data analytics fields
  • A strong understanding of commercial testing processes and customer feedback integration
  • A strong background and/or understanding of Animal Science / Animal welfare
  • Experience in an internationally focused sales and marketing organisation ideally within a technology based business or related space would be desirable
