The University of Luxembourg is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research support technician focused on software development to join the BrainSat project. This project aims to revolutionize satellite communications by leveraging brain-inspired neuromorphic computing techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing software solutions, including spiking neural network (SNN) models, for on-board satellite communication systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement SNN-based algorithms for satellite communication applications
  • Conduct literature reviews and stay updated with the latest advancements in neuromorphic computing and satellite communications
  • Develop system models and simulations using MATLAB, python, and other relevant tools
  • Generate training data and develop AI/ML models for benchmarking against neuromorphic solutions
  • Collaborate with the hardware R specialist to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware solutions
  • Participate in testing campaigns and analyze the results to improve system performance
