Dr. Yasser Riaz Alhosseini’s lab is looking to hire a Research Assistant 1 to conduct research that focuses on the comprehensive molecular understanding of renal cell carcinoma.
Position Summary:
1. Execute laboratory experiments, data collection and analysis of data under supervision of supervisor and Research Assistant 2
2. Analysis and interpret the research results. Prepare reports and presentation describing these results
3. Implement new approaches to improve the management of ongoing renal cell carcinoma biobank, including new protocols for developing and registering ex vivo models. This requires strong organizational skills and coordination with collaborator laboratories.
4. Help in training other lab members, by providing technical guidance to students
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in biology or health sciences. Experience with working in biology laboratories
Qualifications:
1. Ability to work with Microsoft office is necessary
2. Experience to work with biobanks, handing tumor tissue samples and human blood is necessary
3. Experience with data entry, documentation and reporting is a must
4. Experience with performing quality control tests is a plus
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4
