REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Two years of related work experience in the same job family and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

REQUIRED SKILL/ABILITY 1:

Demonstrated ability to interpret written policies and procedures including complex materials, clinical trial protocols, and technical lab manuals. Proven experience working within a regulated laboratory environment. Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate essential information to staff.

REQUIRED SKILL/ABILITY 2:

Excellent attention to detail, attendance, and punctuality are critical to this position. Strong organizational and inter-personal skills, with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to work in a team as well as independently, and to effectively manage change.

REQUIRED SKILL/ABILITY 3:

Strong computer skills including intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Proven ability and willingness to learn new systems, processes and technology.

REQUIRED SKILL/ABILITY 4:

Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA and ability to ensure strict patient confidentiality.

REQUIRED SKILL/ABILITY 5:

Demonstrated proficiency with medical laboratory terminology, and blood processing techniques.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and experience ensuring strict patient confidentiality. Previous specimen processing experience.

Sets up, operates, and maintains laboratory equipment and apparatus. Modifies equipment according to experimental specifications. 4. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. May monitor hazardous work areas and laboratory safety. Prepares related reports. May prepare financial information and monitor budgets. 5. Performs additional functions incidental to research activities.
