Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated Research Assistant to work jointly across the Cardiovascular Theme of the NIHR Sheffield Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and the Division of Neuroscience within the School of Medicine and Population Health. The successful applicant will lead day to day delivery of trial objectives for the Remote Ischaemic Conditioning for Fatigue after Stroke Study (RIC-FAST 2). This is a 3-year study aiming to recruit 60 individuals into a 4-arm randomised controlled trial of Remote Ischaemic Conditioning. You will lead on participant recruitment from the South Yorkshire and Humber Region as well as ensuring intervention delivery and follow up outcome assessments are completed on time. You will also work alongside patients, PPI groups, technical teams at Google Health and the Imaging and Engineering Theme of the NIHR Sheffield BRC, and clinical academics from around the UK. You will need to demonstrate strong communication, team-working and problem solving skills alongside experience with recruitment to clinical trials and interacting with patients and the public in PPIE activities. The role will also involve leading on writing scientific outputs for journals and co-supervision of students and occasional teaching duties.
