Research Assistant - Children's Lung Health

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Children’s Lung Health Team has an exciting new opportunity for a Research Assistant to join the team and support a range of research projects.
The team investigates lung growth and development through infancy, childhood, adolescence and early adulthood, in health and in chronic lung disease, and the impact of preterm birth on lung health outcomes.
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will provide support for research projects including coordinating collaborative projects from initiation and recruitment, through to data collection and management.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Study coordination including recruitment and booking appointments.
• Running respiratory function testing as part of various research studies.
• Collections of biological samples such as induced sputum.

• Conduct literature reviews and assist with data cleaning and analysis.

  Based in our modern offices at Perth’s Children’s Hospital, this position will be offered on a full-time basis for 12 months initially with the potential to extend. Part time may be considered for the right candidate.
  About You

  To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience working with children of all ages as well as the following experiences and skillsets:

• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Endnote referencing and editing and other relevant software tools.

• Experience with academic database search strategies and literature review process.
• Strong writing skills, including capacity to summarize and communicate technical/clinical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Experience in respiratory physiology would be desirable but is not essential for this role.
