Job Description Summary
The behavioral medicine research assistant’s roles and responsibilities include data analysis, literature review, and behavioral intervention delivery for projects related to physical activity, diet, and aging. Specifically, they will lead data analysis on existing datasets and support these analyses with literature reviews. They will also develop behavioral intervention protocols, source intervention technologies (e.g., wearable devices), participate in recruitment, and lead intervention sessions in human subjects protocols.
Job Description
Summary:
The behavioral medicine research assistant’s roles and responsibilities include data analysis, literature review, and behavioral intervention delivery for projects related to physical activity, diet, and aging. Specifically, they will lead data analysis on existing datasets and support these analyses with literature reviews. They will also develop behavioral intervention protocols, source intervention technologies (e.g., wearable devices), participate in recruitment, and lead intervention sessions in human subjects protocols.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with PI and other staff to generate research protocols and prepare, submit, and manage IRB submissions.
  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings.
  • Assist in coordinating laboratory activities including student communications, scheduling, and leading laboratory meetings.
  • Comply with Institutional policies, study protocols and procedures, and DHHS and IRB guidelines for human subjects research.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health & Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or related field, Master’s degree preferred
  • General knowledge of human subjects research procedures and practices.
  • General knowledge of behavioral sciences.

Physical Requirements:
Inside work. Ability to engage in computer work.
Accountabilities:
Responsible for own work. May oversee work of student employees, volunteers, and/or interns. May exercise independent judgment in working and collaborating with others working with PI.
