Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Shared Resource Facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the ‘human immune monitoring’ side of the Flow Cytometry and Human Immune Monitoring Shared Resource Lab. This position requires technical expertise in immune assays and laboratory management skills.

Lab Management:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage and order lab supplies
  • Maintain accurate records of lab activities, experimental protocols, and equipment maintenance.

Technical Support and Expertise:

  • Process human specimens; blood, saliva, urine, etc.
  • Perform basic immunological assays, including flow cytometry, ELISA, Luminex, and Nanostring GeoMX Digital Spatial Profiling

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment within the Flow Cytometry and Human Immune Monitoring Shared Resource Lab, promoting knowledge sharing and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with other shared resource lab managers and core facility directors to optimize resource utilization and promote cross-disciplinary research.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical coordinators, scientists and lab members providing updates and progress reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A B.S. degree in a biological science. Experience in an immunology or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Experience in laboratory management.
  • Technical expertise in a wide range of immunological techniques, such as flow cytometry, ELISA, Luminex, PCR.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a laboratory setting.
  • Organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
