DEPARTMENT
The Reproductive and Maternal Health Research (ReMaHR) Group is part of the Public Health and Society theme at Department of Health Sciences and is looking for an organised, motivated and enthusiastic research assistant to provide research and administrative support to a funded research project focussed on Flooding and Maternal Health. The project is led by Dr Amanda Mason-Jones and involves an international collaboration which includes colleagues at the University of Ghana. The role holder will support the project by providing support for a range of research activities. This role is an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to gain experience and develop skills for a future career in public health research and equitable partnerships.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION NEEDED
- Knowledge of a range of qualitative and quantitative research techniques
- Knowledge of the global impact of flooding on maternal health
- Competent in project coordination
- Level 3 qualification
- Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive information
- Good documentation and report writing skills
Responsibilities:
- Administer and co-ordinate designated aspects of the research project
- Support the preparation of applications for ethical and other regulatory approvals
- Conduct literature searches, and extract, collate or summarise data under the direction of the project lead
- Undertake fieldwork, in particular qualitative interviews and support data entry and management whilst contributing to preliminary cleaning and analysis of research data as required
- Write and prepare summaries of meetings/workshops, interim reports/papers, minutes.
- Assist with the write-up of research for reports, publications and presentations in both academic and non-academic settings
- Facilitate communication/liaison between team members and other key stakeholders (e.g. Public partners, public health, environmental health, and NHS colleagues, University partners etc.)
