JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Biostatistics Center is an off-campus research facility of The George Washington University located in Rockville, Maryland. The Biostatistics Center serves as the coordinating center for large scale multi-center clinical trials and epidemiological studies funded by federal agencies including the National Institutes of Health. The Biostatistics Center is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to work as a member of the coordinating center team supporting the NIH-funded study, “The Epidemiology of Diabetes Interventions and Complications (EDIC)”. The Research Assistant will be responsible for providing research study support, maintaining research study documents, maintaining the EDIC study website, and organizing training and certification for new study procedures. The Research Assistant is also responsible for carrying out the day-to-day communications with clinical sites, and ensuring adherence to study procedures. This includes acting as liaison with subcommittees and working groups and monitoring data collection. The amount of travel is on an as-needed basis (less than 5%).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

Responsibilities:
- Maintaining study documentation, including data collection forms and manuals of operations.
- Maintaining the study website, including content management and technical support.
- Organizing training and certification of research study staff for any new procedures.
- Serving as liaison to study subcommittees and working groups, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and facilitating discussion.
- Assisting with acquisition and distribution of research study materials, including interacting with vendors as needed.
- Performing data cleanup and quality checks via the data management system.
- Assisting with form development in the database management system.
- Organizing and attending Research Group meetings.
- Participating in center-wide committees pertaining to data management systems and website development.
- Perform other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
