SKILLS REQUIRED:
- A degree in psychology, early childhood education, public health, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with community child health research or health services research.
- Familiarity with community health programs, particularly those aimed at early childhood development.
- Demonstrated experience in early childhood care or related community settings.
- Experience in research management, including data collection, stakeholder engagement, and evaluation frameworks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and levels of seniority as well as children, young people and families.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications, research tools and software
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

Responsibilities:
The Research Assistant will work within the Population Child Health Research group a multidisciplinary translational research team. The Research Assistant will provide research and administrative support on the Healthy Beginnings project. This initiative focuses on developing and piloting an early intervention targeted to address the physical, developmental, and psychological needs of children and families in early learning centres through a multidisciplinary approach.
The Research Assistant will report to the Professor, Head of the Population Child Health Research Group.
