JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for medical research to assist in the investigation and characterization of blood coagulation in a vascular coupler used for microvascular anastomosis. We will study blood flow through a novel coupler design in an extracorporeal flow loop in order to identify its coagulation tendency and explore strategies to mitigate this perioperative blood clotting problem.
The candidate will work with a team of expert advisors to set up the extracorporeal flow loop and perform particle image velocimetry measurements, conduct parametric experimental and simulation studies, as well as histological assays of the implanted coupler.
QUALIFICATIONS
B.Eng., M.Eng. or M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or equivalent. Experience and expertise in wet lab techniques and computational simulation will be an advantage.
