JOB POSTING DESCRIPTION
The Julia Li Lab in the Program of Cellular and Molecular Medicine (PCMM) is looking for a Research Assistant I, whose main responsibility is to support the day-to-day functioning of a collaborative and cutting edge research laboratory that studies molecular aspects of genomic instability in the context of viral infection. We leverage our recent discovery of a cluster of breakage-prone Epstein Barr Virus-like repeat sequences to uncover the missing link between repeat DNA, genome stability, and viral infection using advanced techniques in molecular biology, cell biology, single cell analysis, CRISPR-mediated genome engineering, genome-wide sequencing, unbiased proteomics, and functional genomics. Our research is relevant for understanding the role of virus-like repeat sequences in the development of viral infection-associated cancer and genetic diseases. This is a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain research experience and sharpen their scientific mind before applying to graduate or medical school. For more information about our research, please visit our website: https://www.thejulialilab.com
