QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum education: required: Bachelors Degree in biological or physical sciences; Preferred Master’s Degree. Experience required: 1-2 years of job-related experience; Preferred: 3-5 years of job-related experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Microsoft Office and willingness to learn software programs used in the research lab.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform experiments as instructed by Principal Investigator (Dr. Jordan Beach, Cell and Molecular Physiology). Will receive training to be able to perform techniques required in experiments. May include tissue or cell cultures, advanced microscopy, and animal maintenance and genotyping.
• Perform basic lab tasks required to complete experiments. May include preparation of reagents solutions, buffers and media.
• Gather, organize and record data. Perform simple analysis of results. May assist with library and/or electronic research.
• Monitor inventory of essential lab supplies and order additional supplies as necessary. Maintains orderly record of purchases.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly lab environment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
