Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Research Assistant will join Dr Sung Pil Hong’s laboratory at Imperial College London (Hammersmith Campus). The team aims to investigate non-genetic intratumoral heterogeneity and its role in drug resistance in patients with oesophageal cancer. Oesophageal cancer presents a dismal clinical outcome and ranks as the 7th most common cause of cancer deaths in the UK. Intratumoral heterogeneity has been identified as a major driver of drug resistance and cancer progression.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

We invite applications for a Research Assistant to work on the intratumoural heterogeneity project funded by CRUK. The primary objective is to deliver exceptional technical expertise and guidance. The individual occupying this role will execute experiments vital to fulfilling grant funding milestones, offering vital support to the research group and post-graduate students. Additionally, the post holder will assume responsibility for the laboratory’s daily coordination, operations, and maintenance.
While the candidate will predominantly work at Imperial College London (Hammersmith Campus), they will also collaborate closely with internal and external collaborators. The individual occupying this role will execute experiments vital to fulfilling grant funding milestones, offering vital support to the research group and post-graduate students. Additionally, the post holder will assume responsibility for the laboratory’s daily coordination, operations, and maintenance. The candidate will provide support and training to research staff, MRes, MD, and PhD students within the laboratory.
