The department “Data Science and Metrology” pursues the increase of productivity, efficiency and quality of laser-based manufacturing through digital solutions, customized laser beam sources, optical systems and modern equipment technology. The Computational Methods group focuses on the design, modeling and simulation of laser beam sources, laser systems and processes using classical multiphysics numerical simulations and modern approaches such as artificial intelligence and quantum algorithms.
To strengthen the team, we are looking for a research assistant in the field of quantum computing. The main task is the development of quantum algorithms for the modeling and optimization of laser beam sources and processes in laser material processing, with a focus on the calculation of the optical properties of quantum films in semiconductor lasers.
