The Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care (NMPC) is based in the heart of central and south London. It includes the Cicely Saunders Institute for Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation, the premier Institute for Palliative Care, bringing together clinical, research and education teams.
Our applied clinical and health multidisciplinary research transforms therapies, the healthcare experience and outcomes for patients and those important to them, wherever they are cared for. About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to make meaningful contribution and valuable impact to the delivery of a dementia and digital health project.
The post-holder will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary co-applicant team to deliver this project successfully. In this position, you will provide research support on a project that will develop and build a supportive platform for family carers for people with dementia.
In this role you will be responsible for day-to-day coordination of the project including a variety of responsibilities such as but not limited to data collection, co-development workshops, writing academic papers and reports, dissemination of research, liaising with co-applicant team, collaborators, Patient and Public Involvement members and community partners.
This is a part time (28 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31.10.2025

About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • A degree in health or social sciences or similar awarded to a high level (e.g. first or 2.1)
  • Experience of co-development methods
  • Experience of using social media and/or online platforms to engage and promote research activities
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with proven ability to coordinate and deliver projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication to the situation
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise, and complete work within deadlines

Desirable criteria

  • A postgraduate qualification in health or social sciences or similar e.g. MSc or PhD
  • Research or clinical experience in dementia care
  • Research or other types of experience in digital health
  • Publications, including blogs, reports, web content, creative dissemination
  • Experienced in public engagement or working with community partners
