Description:
ABOUT YOU
You will hold a first degree in a subject relevant to health services research or psychology and have experience conducting research, either through paid employment or as a student. You must be proficient in Microsoft Word and other related software, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates research potential and a passion for contributing to high-quality research. Experience or interest in health-related issues, especially in the fields of diabetes or cardiovascular diseases, would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will have good analytical skills and a willingness to travel, as some of the work may involve visiting other sites.
If you are excited about the opportunity to be part of a leading research team and contribute to significant health interventions, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Research Assistant to join the Diabetes Research Centre at the University of Leicester. As a Research Assistant, you will support a range of health psychology and self-management research projects, including the M3 programme, an NIHR-funded initiative focused on developing and testing a disease management intervention for adults with early-onset type 2 diabetes.
Your responsibilities will include supporting research tasks such as liaising with NHS organisations, collecting and analysing qualitative data, and obtaining ethics and governance approvals. You will contribute to mixed-methods data collection, using tools such as NVIVO, and participate in the preparation of grant applications and academic papers. Additionally, you will engage with research participants, including healthcare professionals and patients, and support the smooth running of projects through administrative tasks and regular reporting.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of an impactful research programme and collaborate with researchers both within the University and across external institutions.
