Description:
An exciting role for a motivated Research Assistant to join a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded Mersey Care Mood Clinic (MCMC) , forming a vital part of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and researchers launching and developing this new service over 2 years.
S upported by MCMC Chief Investigator and Psychiatry Lead and w orking collaboratively alongside a vibrant research delivery team to collect data, including evidence-based s tandardised outcome measures e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7 , the post holder will support successful delivery of the clinic a gainst local and national targets .
With understanding of mental illness and through developing and maintaining good working relationships with service users, carers, clinic staff and other s takeholders , t he successful applicant will ensur e research is conducted within ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for Research and form a key part of the success of research studies and trials within the clinic.

Responsibilities:
A ssist ing with set-up and facilitation of research activity undertaken at MCMC including m ai ntain ing and manag ing an external database.
E ngag ing potential research participants , and others , in research studies and trials through a variety of methods , including independently trave l l ing .
D emonstrating an a ware ness of the psychological/ emotional needs of research participants whilst c arry ing out any relevant psychometric test materials , structured/ semi-structured interviews and period ic follow-up and responding and reporting appropriately.
E nsur ing research procedures are carried in accordance with protocol and UK policy framework for health and social care research . Support ing the production of interim progress and governance reports for the clinic’s funder and relevant committee s .
R eview ing of electronic patient clinical notes, extracting and coding data for research purposes , and enter ing into the study database.
