QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in related science fields preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Valid CA Driver’s License. As a requirement of this position, you must receive EPIC certification for the module you have been hired into.
  • Experience: 1+ years of research or related experience required.
  • Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Computer literate with knowledge and experience with specific software such as Word, Excel, Access. Must have proficient computer skills including data entry (35wpm). Must be able to use avariety of office equipment including fax machine, scanner, printer and copier.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Able to work with people in a tactful and diplomatic manner. Relates well with staff, students, residents, faculty, administration, and others. Able to deal with conflict and criticisms objectively. Able to communicate with large number of people present exercising good judgment in sensitive and confidentialmatters.
  • Essential Mental Abilities: Requires critical thinking skills. Must be flexible to perform a variety of tasks. Must be well organized. Must be able to handle multiple telephone lines ringing simultaneously. Must be able to prioritize work using strong decision making skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews, administer questionnaires, and review medical records to gather data from potential research participants.
  • Perform medical chart reviews to assess the impact of FIRST (Families Implementing Resilient Systems Together) training on counseling, handouts, and referrals.
  • Evaluate medical records to determine eligibility criteria based on factors such as chronic health conditions, adverse childhood experiences (ACE) referrals, provider information, ACE scores, and demographic details like race/ethnicity.
  • Initiate recruitment efforts by making phone calls to eligible patients using an IRB approved script.
  • Verify the completeness and accuracy of collected data and assist in research analysis and summarization of findings.
  • Manage email correspondence related to research inquiries and updates.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide updates and collaborate with team members.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to supervisors and project stakeholders.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with other departments within the outpatient setting to ensure smooth coordination of research activities.
  • Support supervisors with special projects and tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data collection protocols and procedures, ensuring adherence to research standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate participant scheduling and follow-up activities, including reminders for study appointments and tracking of participant progress throughout the research timeline.
