ABOUT YOU:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Research Assistant to recruit participants and manage research studies on chronic diseases.

You are required to have;

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a health-related field (e.g. public health)
  • Experience in study participant enrolment is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and record-keeping
  • Understanding of ethical guidelines and regulations related to human subject’s research
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing study needs.
  • Ability to liaise with different stakeholders.
  • Experience in data analysis, presentation and scientific writing are added advantage, but not crucial.

Remuneration: Salary is $60,922 - $71,272 p.a. (pro rata) plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed-term appointment for 12 months. Level of appointment will be dependent on skills and experience.

Responsibilities:

This is a part-time (0.8FTE) position for 1 year, with possibility of extension. The Research Assistant will report to the Principal Investigator, and will also closely work with other researchers working on chronic diseases including PhD students in the Statistical Genetics Group. If you are passionate about medical research and have experience in participant recruitment, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

The main responsibilities are;

  • Recruit eligible participants for a range of studies focusing on chronic diseases.
  • Provide potential participants with information about the study, answer any questions they may have, and obtain informed consent.
  • Manage research ethics for new and ongoing studies.
  • Ensure that all recruitment procedures comply with ethical guidelines and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all recruitment activities, including participant contact details and consent forms.
  • Liaise with the study team, and collaborators to coordinate participant enrolment and data collection.
  • Manage research databases.
  • Organise research meetings with different national and international stakeholders.
  • Draft other relevant research documents that are important for new and ongoing studies.
  • Assist with designing online surveys, data entry and cleaning, as required.
  • Adhere to study protocols and timelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of participants at all times
