About the role
The primary purpose of this position is to support and undertake research led by the Child and Youth Mental Health stream at the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research (QCMHR). The role will involve producing deliverables for a range of domestic and international mental health research projects. The role also provides the opportunity for specialist training and professional development in line with the research stream’s objectives and timelines.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Understanding and experience of research processes.
- Mixed methods research, analysis and report-writing skills.
- High-level interpersonal and negotiation skills. Knowledge of serious mental illness: etiology, current approaches to treatment, and current relevant research issues is an advantage.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Possession of a bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary institution in science, health, social or behavioural sciences or a related field. Being currently enrolled in a higher degree program will be viewed favourably. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of duties
- An honours degree or its equivalent in the behavioural sciences, public health or other relevant discipline is desirable.
