Description:
THIS POSTING WILL BE USED TO HIRE 2 POSITIONS
Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The research assistant will support various aspects of research projects related to K-12 schooling and supporting student well-being in schools with a focus on equity. The research assistant will work closely with the faculty supervisor to conduct academic research, manage data collection processes, and support the organization of the research program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be currently enrolled in a concurrent or consecutive Bachelor of Education program.
- High level of comfort with MS Suite (Word, Excel etc.).
- Understanding of survey tools (i.e. SurveyMonkey, Qualitrics).
- Ability to record and transcribe interviews.
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of stakeholders in education (i.e., students, teachers, administrators, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to student equity and student well-being in schools.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize materials for research.
- Perform academic research and literature reviews.
- Monitor and document research status and findings.
- Assist in data collection, data entry, analysis and interpretation.
- Assist in the acquisition of research materials and supplies.
- Perform data/word processing, routine computations, and record keeping.
- Perform routine clerical and administrative duties to support research activities.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
